First day post-op.
The day after surgery consisted of nothing but snuggles. It was a quiet day in the NICU.

The only thing holding us back from going home was the G-tube surgery. Dax was still thriving on his own and handling his feedings well. We quickly learned that Dax would need G-tube surgery. He doesn’t have a strong suck reflex and it’s difficult for him to swallow. It’s more of a risk for him to eat orally; aspirating and choking is something we want to avoid. I think it clicked with Dax on this day that he saw his mom. He looked up at me with the widest eyes. He is so sweet.
